University Medical Center Lubbock, the region's public teaching hospital affiliated with Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, handles many Medicaid births and complex cases — and it's the only Level I Trauma Center for 300 miles, with the region's only children's hospital. UMC serves a broad community, including many Medicaid families, with an NICU and maternal care. If you're delivering here, come with your plan in hand.
