First Trimester · Week 11
11 Weeks Pregnant: As small as a fig
Baby development
Your baby at 11 weeks
At this stage, your baby's organs, nerves, and muscles are starting to work together more. This is one of those weeks where development feels less like "pieces forming" and more like a tiny body beginning to function.

What you might be feeling at 11 weeks
The finish line of the first trimester is visible. Symptoms may be fading or still going strong — both are normal. You might notice your belly changing shape, your energy slowly returning, and emotions still running high. This is a good time to start thinking about announcing after 12 weeks.

You're almost there. I know it feels like this trimester has been going on forever — I remember counting days during my first pregnancy, watching the weeks crawl by. If you're still feeling awful, hang on. If you're starting to feel better, let that be a relief, not a worry. With my fifth baby, this was the week I finally stopped feeling sick and started feeling like a person again, and I was so suspicious of the improvement that I almost wished the nausea would come back just so I'd know everything was okay. It was okay. It's okay. One more week.

Common questions
11 weeks pregnant: your questions answered
When should I start telling people? +
Many women wait until 12 weeks when the miscarriage risk drops significantly. But there's no single right answer — tell whoever you want, whenever you're ready. Some women tell close family early for support.
My symptoms are fading — is that normal? +
Yes. Around 11 weeks, many women start to feel better as the placenta takes over hormone production. Enjoy the improvement.
